Neighbourhood planning enables local communities to create a shared vision, or plan, for their area. It enables us to choose where we want new homes, shops and offices to be built, have our say on what the buildings should look like and what infrastructure should be provided.

‘Neighbourhood planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to ensure that they get the right types of development for their community’ (DCLG, 2014)

As residents, businesses and representatives of our communities, we know our area best and are well placed to propose positive improvements that will benefit generations to come.

Diss is working in partnership with the six local parishes of Burston and Shimpling, Brome and Oakley, Palgrave, Roydon, Scole and Stuston to create a joint Neighbourhood Plan that will benefit all of us.

The aim is to ensure that future development has a positive outcome for our communities.

It is up to you to have your say, so why not get involved?
